In my perfect house, a library is a must; perhaps combined with a chamber of curiosities. I can’t decide if I prefer old-fashioned ones or modern living… white or wood, full wall or book shelf patches – I’ll offer some inspirational photos for all those undecided bibliophiles out there.

What I like about this one is the light and open space. Everything is clean; but I wonder how the upper books are reached without a step or sliding ladder?

Traditional chic; I like it!. I have a thing for dark wood and the halfmoons suggest that those shelves are fairly wide, hence, able to hold many volumes.
This one is very interesting. It is a boxed library, somewhat an open walk-in wandrobe with french windows. Where that design is feasible, it’ll be pretty.

Old victorian charm. The beautiful ceiling-high woodwork, the different arm chairs and the great old carpet are just phenomenal!

This one is quite modern but not too overly fashion magazine. I like that the space is use wisely and the small table in front.

The appeal here is the roundness. Storing books in carved bookshelves is not ideal because it exposes the books to different amounts of sunlight and books are not naturally rounded – but nevertheless, this set-up is just very pretty.
Whatever I decide (will be able to afford), a few things seem essential. I think I really like a spiral staircase, in case I ever have a two-storey house.

Or maybe a more modest library chair.
Now that we cleared this, I just need to win the lottery, move somewhere nice, accumulate much more books and voilá!
